This feature allows an instructor to reuse elements from one course or section in another course or section. It eliminates the need to re-write complex assignments, frequently used instructions or folder structures for example.
TO COPY COURSE CONTENT
1. Note the name or Course ID number of the DESTINATION course. You will need this later.
2. Enter the control panel of the SOURCE course
3. Find the Course Options section or “channel” in the control panel
4. Click the Course Copy link.
IMPORTANT – Choose the option to Copy Course Materials into an
Existing Course
You should now see a 3-step form to complete.
1. Course Selection: Enter the course ID of the destination course (the “new” or empty course). If you do not know the course ID, you can click the Browse button to search among the courses you teach.
2. Select Course Materials: Check the box by each item you want to copy over. (Note, you must select at least one item from the content, staff information or setting options to copy any items).
3. Submit: When all selections are made, click the submit button to process your request. You should get a “receipt” page letting you know your copy was successful.
Navigate to the destination course and check your content. Please remember to
re-set any release dates for the new course if those were in place on any of the
copied items.
Note: You must choose to copy materials into an existing course rather
than a new course. For Blackboard, a “new” course indicates a destination course
must be created, in most cases – Truman instructors should have course shells
available for the new semester by mid-term of the previous semester.
If you need assistance or have questions about the process, please call IT
Services Help Desk – 660-785-4544. If the Help Desk staff cannot answer your
question, the case will be forwarded to a Blackboard Support Team Member here at
Truman.
